For us, Alaska is a magical place. We grew up here, surrounded by majestic beauty and captivating wildlife, experiencing adventures that only Alaska can provide. Both of our families were drawn to Alaska barely after it achieved statehood. We graduated from High School in Alaska, and although we attended college in the lower 48 at Stanford and Brigham Young University, it was here, along the Seward Highway overlooking Cook Inlet and Mount Susitna, that Gene proposed and our lives became forever intwined.
Alaska is home, deep in our hearts wherever we may be, and as our family and our business grew, we both felt its call. You see, Alaska gets in your blood; it flows through your veins and calls you back, again and again.
In 2007, we purchased a dated, never-finished property that was desperately in need of some tender loving care—but truly occupied the most beautiful spot in the world. It was our dream to create a unique and luxurious escape from the everyday. A place worthy of its surroundings.
